Discover the world in 2030 from your computer!

On 21 November 2007, World-renowned Futurologist Ray Hammond will unveil the report "The World in 2030". The report is commissioned by PlasticsEurope.

On 21 November, from 18.00 CET to 21.00 CET, PlasticsEurope invites schools to follow live - from a computer - the launch event of “The world in 2030”. This is a report of Ray Hammond, World famous futurologist.

The event will be covered by a professional TV crew and will be simultaneously broadcasted via PlasticsEurope’s website.

The report, which is the result of one year research, addresses questions such as:

  • With fossil fuel stocks declining, how can we use plastics to help protect the climate?
  • How will we provide for the food, land and energy needs of a global population of over 8 billion?
  • In 2030, will advances in medical science mean we never have to die?
  • When computer intelligence equals human intelligence, how will mankind and machines live together?
  • How will what we currently know as the internet develops into a "global brain"?

The report‘s findings will be discussed with a panel of Academia, NGOs, including Friend’s of the Earth, and the Plastics Industry. The debates will be moderated by Michael Wilson, Sky News International Broadcast Business Journalist of the Year 2006.
